Gathering: Understanding the Living Building Challenge, Pre-Workshop Networking Event

NEXTbuilding Forum is excited to announce and help promote this upcoming event offered through the International Living Future Institute as an outstanding educational opportunity.
 
The International Living Futures Institute, born of the Cascadia Region USGBC, has created the world's currently most advanced, comprehensive, holistic green building certification program called the Living Building Challenge.  It is one in which a successfully certified building must, amongst other things, be net-zero energy, net-zero water and net-zero waste; and be so for one entire year after occupancy.  Amazing! This workshop provides you an in-depth, 6-hour, introduction to the Living Building Challenge.  The seminar is targeted to anyone and everyone who can impact the development of the built environment.
Eric Doyle is a Living Building Challenge Ambassador and Project Administrator for Catalyst Partners.  Catalyst Partners is a multi-dimensional consortium of knowledge leaders committed to high performance and restorative design protocols for buildings, interiors and products. The consortium is comprised of professionals with licensures in science, engineering, architecture, and interiors. Our clients seek assistance in building and product performance optimization and certification. We act as the “catalyst” that helps our clients establish benchmarks and achieve their goals.
Matt Grocoff, Esq. LEED GA is called one of "Greater Detroit's most progressive personalities". Matt and his wife, Kelly, are the owners and creators of the reported oldest net-zero house in America: the Mission Zero House.  Inspired by the late Ray Anderson of Interface, whose vision of a restorative future included a "mission zero" manifesto in which they set the goal to eliminate all of Interface's negative impacts on the planet.  Matt and Kelly's home stives for that same goal and has been featured in numerous national magazines, recently described by Atlantic magazine as "sustainable perfection".
