USGBC's LEED: Understanding LEED for Homes
NEXTbuilding Forum is excited to announce and help promote this upcoming class offered through the Alliance for Environmental Sustainability as an outstanding educational opportunity.
LEED for Homes is a green rating system for mixed-use multi-family buildings, as well as single-family homes. This course provides an introduction to the LEED for Homes rating system and delivery model. The course addresses the intents and requirements of prerequisites and key credits within the rating system while providing real world examples of strategies to meet them. The course also identifies the roles and responsibilities of key stakeholders and a LEED for Homes project and is designed to prepare the professional to plan for key considerations and requirements for the LEED certification process. Speaker Sam Pobst BO+M, BD+C, Homes and ID+C, LEED Faculty Sam Pobst is the founder of Eco Metrics LLC, a national coalition of green building consultants with expertise in diverse areas of green building specialties, collaborating to advance sustainable building practices. Sam has a degree in Construction Management from Michigan State University, with 40 years of experience in the commercial construction industry. He was a founding member of the US Green Building Council West Michigan Chapter, serving two terms as Chair, and is Past Chair of the USGBC Heartland Regional Council. He is a licensed contractor in the State of Michigan.
